ENDA McGinley has stepped down as Errigal Ciaran manager after three years in the role, during which he led the club to a first All-Ireland Club SFC final.

McGinley, along with assistant Stephen Quinn, who has also left the role, guided the Dunmoyle to a Tyrone championship in his first season in charge, 2024, and reached another final this year, losing narrowly to Edendork.

The former Antrim manager was also a Tyrone SFC winner with Errigal as a player, and won three All-Irelands with Tyrone during the noughties, and has since become a highly respected pundit on RTE.

Announcing the departure of the management team, Errigal Ciaran GAC said in a statement: “Aireagal Chiaráin GAC wishes to express its sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Enda McGinley, Stephen Quinn and the entire Senior Men's backroom team, who have stepped down from their respective roles following the completion of their three-year tenure.

“Over the past three seasons, Enda, Stephen and their management team have demonstrated exceptional dedication, passion and commitment to our senior players and the wider club.

“Their tireless work, countless hours of preparation and unwavering belief in this group of players have helped deliver one of the most memorable and historic periods in our club's history.

“Their tenure will be remembered for an outstanding series of achievements, including:

2024 Tyrone Senior Football Championship Winners

2024 Ulster Senior Club Football Championship Winners

2025 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship Finalists

2026 Tyrone Senior Football Championship Finalists

“Undoubtedly, the crowning achievement was guiding Aireagal Chiaráin to our third Ulster Senior Club Championship title, ending a 22-year wait to bring provincial honours back to our club.

“That remarkable journey continued as they led our club to achieve a dream shared by generations of players, members and supporters - seeing Aireagal Chiaráin run out onto the hallowed turf of Croke Park on All-Ireland Club Final Day for the inaugural time.

“It was a truly historic occasion, one which brought immense pride and joy to our entire parish and to Errigal people near and far. The memories created throughout that unforgettable journey will live long in the hearts of our supporters and forever hold a special place in the history of Aireagal Chiaráin GAC.

“While silverware and historic milestones are a testament to their success, equally deserving of recognition is the commitment, leadership and personal sacrifices made by Enda, Stephen and every member of the backroom team in their service to our club and players.

“On behalf of the committee, players, members and supporters of Aireagal Chiaráin GAC, we extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to Enda, Stephen and the entire backroom team for everything they have given to our club.

“We wish each of them every success and happiness in their future endeavours, and they can look back with enormous pride on the legacy they leave behind.”
