AUGHNACLOY Golf Club was delighted to host this year’s Loane Motors Charity Classic, which proved to be a tremendous success both on and off the course, raising an impressive £6,390 for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

This year’s Classic held particular significance for the club and the local community following the tragic passing of JJ Kennedy in Bali. JJ was the son of club member, Joel Kennedy, and the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust provided invaluable assistance to the Kennedy family in bringing JJ home.

In recognition of the support they received, the club, together with Loane Motors and a host of generous sponsors, decided to dedicate this year’s event to raising funds for the Trust.

Loane Motors once again provided fantastic support for the Classic, displaying a selection of their vehicles at the club over the two days. The cars attracted considerable interest from members and visitors alike and added to the occasion.

There was plenty of excellent golf throughout the competition, with some very close results across both the Two-Ball and Team events.

At the prize presentation that evening, club captain, Hugh Williamson, thanked Loane Motors for their generous sponsorship and continued support of the Classic each year. He also expressed his gratitude to the many other sponsors and, in particular, the Kennedy family, whose support and contribution helped make the event such a success.

Hugh congratulated all the prize winners before presenting the prizes alongside Joel Kennedy.

Joel also took the opportunity to thank Aughnacloy Golf Club, Loane Motors and all the sponsors who had contributed so generously to the event. He expressed his appreciation for the tremendous support shown by everyone involved.

The highlight of the evening came when Joel announced that the Classic had raised the magnificent sum of £6,390 for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

This outstanding total is a fitting tribute to JJ Kennedy and a wonderful demonstration of the generosity, kindness and community spirit shown by everyone who supported the event.

Aughnacloy Golf Club would like to extend its sincere thanks to Loane Motors, all the sponsors, the Kennedy family, the competitors and everyone who helped organise and support the Classic.

Most importantly, the club hopes that this fantastic contribution will help the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust continue its invaluable work supporting families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

A wonderful event, a fantastic fundraising achievement and a fitting tribute to JJ Kennedy.
