A committal date has been fixed in a domestic abuse case in which it is alleged serious injury was caused on two separate occasions to elevate to crown court.

Edward Ivor Donnelly (57) from Cookstown Road, Dungannon, is accused of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on a female on two separate occasions on dates between July 1 and November 3, 2025.

It is further alleged he engaged in a course of abusive behaviour likely to cause the woman to suffer physical or psychological harm on dates between February 21, 2022, and November 3, 2025.

A prosecuting lawyer informed Dungannon Magistrates Court the case has been directed to proceed on indictment at trial, given the nature of the charges.

District Judge Francis Rafferty remanded Donnelly on continuing bail which includes a ban on contacting the alleged victim.

The case has been adjourned for a committal hearing to take place on October 28 when Donnelly is expected to be returned for trial.
